Aylesford Scout Group

The future of the local Aylesford Scout Group has been uncertain for a number of years as they have outgrown their present premises and also the possibility that the owner of the land on which the Scout Hut is built may wish to sell the land for development.

Now, following a proposal from John Balcombe, Aylesford Parish Council have agreed in principle to lease the Scouts a plot of land in Forstal Road (adjacent to the Waitrose Depot) at a peppercorn rent for up to 25 years.

Aylesford Parish Council will be in contact with the Scouts in the near future to discuss feasibility of the proposal.

John Balcombe said, "The Scouts play an important role within our community and I am delighted to have worked with the local Scout Group and my colleagues on Aylesford Parish Council to find a possible solution to this problem."
